I posted in the Alfie thread. But I'm sure the mods will decide whether it should have it's own thread or not.
Anyway

Good news. I'm looking forward to this. I hope they have a kid of some sort already.

Good news, wonder if the two of them will take over the day to day running of The Vic.

Kat and Stacey had a fab relationship last time around. Kat was a mother to her. I think it will be more interesting to see how Jean/Kat react to one another.

I could see them having a few of those scenes were they sit in the dark, having a tender moment while smoking. I like those scenes Jean has where she is serious for a bit. But I can also see her getting on Jean's nerves.

I seriously think they will be getting the Vic because apparantly Roxy will buy the salon. I can actually see Kat liking both Ronnie and Roxy...

Now Bianca and Kat, plus Carol and Kat...

This is fab news. I had thought that it was just going to be Alfie on his own which would've been a mess so I'm really thrilled about this and Kat is a brilliant character. :)

Finally we can all breathe a sigh of relief! I am guessing they will be taking over the vic then? Any hope Kat can come without Alfie or should I just be grateful we got Kat :)

I think Jessie Wallace is a great actress and is brilliant at portraying the character of Kat Slater. However, i have to say i am a little aprehensive about whether Kat will fit into the show once again espeacially as there are so many strong, fiesty female characters on the show now, such as Stacey, Denise, Shirley, Roxy, Bianca etc... and i'm not sure if the character of Kat will make the same big impact as she originally did. Also i think Kat was involved in so many storylines and went through so much that i think there isn't much more development left in regards to the character, i fear Kat will just go round in circles and the writers will just repeat the same stuff from the past. I was soo happy in the way Kat left the show, and it was great closure, therefore i'm not too sure about the comeback.

The return of Alfie i'm not too keen on, he's just not neccessary for the show, and i think if Kat had to return she would have more scope without Alfie.

Ideally i'm hoping Alfie is back short term.

I see what your saying. I was never an obessive Kat fan I thought she was a little overrated. But in my worry that Alfie was returning I was just happy to see her back because the thought of him filled me with dread. So I am not hugely excited I guess it just softens the blow of Alfie returning but not enough in my opinion, I would rather see neither back then Alfie back at all.
And I agree I felt her storyline had closure too, so although I am waiting with interest looking back was I really overjoyed she left finally happy espcially the dreadful Little Mo/Alfie thing. So yes I am pleased but its still not a good thing.

I went to bed and couldn't relax as I had so many things going round in my head even though I knew in my heart and head that she'd be back and we'd know before the end of the week.

Anyway I'm pretty sure they will come back as a family. Either with a baby due, or recently born. I can see them maybe suddenly dropping it into scripts, especially with Charlie getting a storyline about his knee.

It's strange though, Kat was my favourite character when I started watching and along with Chrissie she kept me watching during the dark era. But I've never really considered a Kat return. I always said I'd love it but I never really expected it to happen or really put much thought into unlike the likes of Chrissie, Sharon, Diane, Honey etc. A bit like Carol really, I always thought it'd be great to have her back but never expected it so never really thought about it.

One of my favourite EE moments is a Kat moment, it was in her last episode actually. She's in the Vic after Alfie left and after lashing out in the pub she goes to the vic loos and as she stares at herself in the mirror in disgust, she wipes off her make up and sheds a few tears. No words, just silence I'm sure. It was fantastic. Jessie nailed it and it totally defined her character for me.

I'm intriuged as to what this does for Charlie's character. Charlie has been pretty much a redundant character from day dot really as he hasn't done much outside his family except the odd storyline here and there. At least Mo interacts with the community though never had a storyline. Kat and Charlie always had an interesting relaitonship. It was more complicated than his relationship with Mo and Lynne, he had a strong relationship with Lynne, but Mo he always felt he let down while with Kat he obviously felt he had let her down but I think their was complete guilt there especailly as he and Viv had brought up Zoe. It's very exciting time for the Slaters. And I'm glad they didn't just go for Little Mo and Lynne because their characters really wouldn't have made much difference and brought much life to Charlie and Big Mo while Kat always bounced off Mo, Charlie and Stacey well. Lynne and Stacey never met while Mo and Stacey didn't have much of a relationship. This will be good for Stacey too and she will be able to take a break but still be involved as such.

I'd actually put money on at least three more names announced to be returning before the end of this year: Letita Dean, Natalie Cassidy and Kacey Ainsworth. (The latter I don't want back tbh, especially with Alfie back). I'd also love to see Honey, Chrissie and Shabnam added to the list and I'd be happy.

This news has really peaked up a pretty crap day for me.
